In the CRYPTOFICTION website we can find several stories by W.H.Hodgson, among others. I was delighted to retrieve Hodgson's serendipitous little gem "THE HABITANTS OF MIDDLE ISLET".
David H.Keller's "THE WORM" is another I have fond memories about: it's Weird Tales material but unusually literary beside creepy. There are other stories by authors (A.C.Doyle, for instance) which are worthy of a trip there.

What is the link to this site. I did a search but don't seem to be finding it. I love Hodgson's short stories and would enjoy reading that one.

Thanks.

Hi! Here is the link:

The tales are not PDF but you can print them by drag and select.
Yes, Hodgson is great, except when he becomes over-sentimental, namely in some parts of "THE NIGHT LAND", but as to the rest, a masterpiece!

Thanks! I first discovered Hodgson from his short story "The Whistling Room", which I absolutely loved. Then I read "The Derelict" and was so impressed with his imagination. I wrote an article about him over at Vintage Horror. I guess he pissed off Harry Houdini by useing his knowledge of how muscles work to handcuff him on stage in 1902. It took Houdini over two hours to escape the restraints, after which he accused Hodgson of intentionally hurting him and jamming the locks of the cuffs.
