OK so I can appreciate that no-one has seen (or I suspect is going to see) Pervirella, so has anyone seen this? It's Jake West's follow-up to the Eileen Daly-starrer Razor Blade Smile and does that low budget horror trick of being The Worst Film You Have Ever Seen for about the first half an hour, picks up for the next thirty minutes, and then becomes a final act of hilarious blood drenched laugh-out-loud fun that makes you glad you stuck with it. Basically Evil Aliens is a British (in fact Welsh) version of Peter Jackson's Bad Taste but with more sex, more blood and more anal carnage. TV presenter Michelle Fox (Emily Booth - pretty, enthusiastic, often gets drenched in blood - what's not to like?) gets sent by her boss to cover an alleged alien abduction on a remote Welsh island, taking with her a geeky UFO expert and some actors to recreate the abduction, including the boss's spanking model girlfriend. So far so badly acted, but from the moment a horde of rampaging aliens ends up being chased across a cornfield by a combine harvester to the tune of a Wurzels classic I didn't stop laughing. Some of the translated Welsh subtitles are comedy gold, as is the gag with the banana skin, and the thrilling climax in the liquid manure tank. Utterly stupid but ultimately great fun, this is no Pervirella but most people will probably be glad of that | ||

Ha! I've seen this. It's insanely brilliant trash. I enjoyed every minute, ish. The combined harvester scene is great fun. Maybe not up there with EVIL DEAD 2, but a good stab at it. | ||

My girlfriend watched it too, Lord P. She giggled through it as well. Hurrah! The DVD was in Asda for £7 a few months ago as well. I'd love to know what some ususpecting soul who bought it thought . . . | ||

I saw it a few years back and really quite enjoyed it - it was good fun, perhaps because it was very low-budget and didn't pretend to be anything else. Also, I loved that on the extras, there was a "tour" of the special effects mans studio, which was his cramped little garage. | ||

Just watched this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Brilliant daft fun. Basically, if you like BAD TASTE and BRAINDEAD, you'll love this. And yes, the combine harvester scene was pure gold. So, apparently, say we all! |
