Since it's the thing to do around here, and since it's a poorly kept secret anyway, I thought I'd announce some news about my forthcoming collection, "Cold to the Touch".

I'm pleased to report that the book will be published by Tartarus Press (one of the homes of my favourite author, Robert Aickman) and is due this year. When? Well, things are in the works, and I hope I have a date for it soon, but in the interim those interested can visit my blog at www.strantzas.com in order to stay up to date.

This book is different than the last in that there's less of a Lovecraft/Ligotti feel to the work. It also contains some my best (or at least most acclaimed) work. I'm really excited about it.

More news soon, but as it's a Tartarus book I though you ought to all start saving your coins. Maybe think about skipping some meals?

Hey, Captain Awesome. You've outdone yourself. Hiding behind the Clark Kent aliterative Simon Strantzas name as mild-mannered keyboard basher is clearly working out. Good news.

The price is somewhat lower than most Tartarus books. Will it perhaps be a compact hardcover (like The White Hands)?

Thanks, all. Had I a heart, I assure you it would be warmed.

Tom, Tartarus is experimenting with a lower price for this new line of contemporary books. I think they've met some resistance selling new authors their core readers are unfamiliar with.

Fingers crossed it works out!

I'm bumping this thread to let everyone know that Tartarus now has Simon's book in stock and has begun shipping out pre-ordered copies.

No doubt Simon would've bumped this thread himself, but last I heard he was pool-side, nursing a martini and negotiating with Hollywood on his Bluetooth.

Shh! You want to blow his cover, Gary? You know it's just Diet Sprite in that glass, I know it's just Diet Sprite in that glass, but what Hollywood doesn't know won't hurt it. Remember, it's all about the image.

Seriously, btw, a man with a hood, whom I did not recognise, knocked on my front door and handed it to me and walked away down the road out of sight. At first I thought it must have been the Royal Mail. But later on the real postman turned up with something else.

That's an interesting and perceptive review, imho. I don't agree with the 'mining' point, however, because we are all mining. Strantzas seems more than just a canary.

I don't think I ever told this thread about my own review's whereabouts:
