Has anyone read Fowler's Bryant and May books? Any good? |

I've been a fan of Bryant and May since Darkest Day and it was always a pleasant surprise to find them popping up unexpectedly in Fowler's subsequent books such as Disturbia, which I also loved. I've read Full Dark House, which was the first of the series of books specifically to 'star' them and really liked it. I've got all the others but have yet to read them. Fast and fun and quite old fashioned, you can probably understand why I like them |

I've got them all. They're dark, fun and quirky. |

I loved Fowler's early books, and the Bryant & May characters were great. I seem to have lost track of his writing somewhere around 'Calabash' which unfortunately didn't do-the-do for ol'gcw. gcw |

Same here... I 've got most of the later books, but seem to recall the last novel I read being Soho Black. I must try to rectify this at some point... at the moment I'm catching up on the BFA short list so I can vote well. |

The Bryant and May books are my favourite series of books, and Darkest Day is my favourite of them. The series starts with Rune, and the first two are supernatural, although later they become quirky police thrillers. Darkest Day got rewritten as 77 Clocks, which was a disappointment (and wasn't as good as Darkest Day) but other than that, these are very highly recommended (by me at least) and worth checking out.
