Just wrote this on another thread, but feel it needs to be seen and talked about on it's own. Anyone read this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Water_(book) You see I love the sound of this but am put off by the fact I didn't like The Ring book at all. It felt sub-James Herbert, written in that sort of atmosphere-free supermarket-book style. |

I've got this, Tony - I'll stick it at the top of the to read pile & let you know what I think. I like that phrase 'supermarket book-style'. I recently read a collection of stories by a chap called Jeffrey Deaver (Bone Collector et al - this was called 'Twisted') which was kind of like that but the twists were good and I have to say every now and then I don't mind a piss easy read in between the heavier tomes |
