Anyone got anything on this yet? I was asked by Ra Page to pick up an award if Comma Press won but I wasn't going. Comma are short listed with The New Uncanny. |

I actually just returned from Readercon with Simon Strantzas and Ian Rogers. Unfortunately, we had to leave this morning before the awards ceremony, so we weren't able to discover which books or authors won. Good luck to the Rodens and other RCMB members who appeared in the nominated anthologies. The internet searches Simon made during the eleven-hour drive home (and yes, he was behind the wheel at the time!) yielded nothing. I hope to find out the winners soon. Readercon was a fabulous convention all the way around. Right now, I need sleep... |

I've watched Comma go from strength to strength over the last few years and they are based in Manchester - where I spent most of my life. It is good to see them get more recognition. |

They also published Robert Shearman's Tiny Deaths, which went on to win the World Fantasy Award, so they're obviously doing something right. |

They certainly did Alan. Please pardon my enthusiasm - to see a small press from your home city win is quite something. There were many fine anthologies in the running. |

Actually, I think the anthology short list was particularly strong - probably the toughest category to pick a winner from. They beat off some first class competition there. |

'They beat off some first class competition there.' First class competition indeed. |

Helen and I are taking BFS publications to the Manchester Independent Book Market this coming Saturday - Ra and Comma Press will be there also... I'll pass on all your congratulations. Anyone else going? |

I've been trying to sort that out, to get across the pass, all week - but my husband is working on his final examinations. Good on you - to travel all that way from Stoke! |

Yeah - but when you live in the middle of nowhere like I do everywhere feels like a great distance. I have to get two trains to get to Manchester (change at Huddersfield) same last week to go to Leeds. Everytime I go to an event I mostly get the train because I haven't got a babysitter and can't keep getting my hubs to bring her along each time. Each trip out is always more complicated. Last week she got to stay up after midnight after I attended an event though. Kept her up far too late. I'm such a bad mother :>( |
