To those of you who do business via Paypal, specifically if you receive payments for goods, how do you access the funds? I can set up a personal or business account, but it seems the funds I'd acquire for goods just stay in the PayPal account as a current balance. Do you have to tie your account to your bank account? |

Yeah, you register your Bank Account details with PayPal and then withdraw funds to the Account as and when needed (£6.50 minimum withdrawal) which takes about 4 or 5 days to show up. I'm sure there must be a Help/Tutorial type thing on the site somewhere that guides you through the process. Been using PayPal for quite a few years now and remember finding it quite straightforward at the time - and very reliable. |

There's also a limit set, for transferring funds from PayPal to your bank account - it's $500/month. UNLESS, you register with them your (in the States) SSN, at which point you can transfer any amount any time, I believe... probably for some nefarious tax reporting or something reasons.... |

Thank you Stephen and Craig. I'm just a little leery of having my bank account tied to my PayPal as I've had my PayPal/eBay account hacked before. |

If you have money in your PayPal Account the only way you'll be able to access it is by transferring to a Bank Account in your name. Maybe you could open a new Account purely for PayPal in which the funds would merely be "resting" to quote Father Ted. |
