Two kiddie movies, yes, but what memories I have of these; both have been great influences. The first is the original, 1949 version. As a kid it was a taster for The Innocents, a step towards appreciation of that kind of film. It is not available anywhere to buy.
The Bluebird is a Shirley Temple movie with an episode in it that bothered me so much that when I told my wife about it it bothered her for years, too. It was the scenes in a place called The Land of Unborn Children; Ms Temple goes to this place where all the kids who have ever lived wait to be born. Scary thing? Some never are. Strewth, it's sad. This film is at least on region one, and it's great.

I've never seen 'The Bluebird' but know it by reputation. Wasn't it compared favourably with 'The Wizard Of Oz' at the time?
