I suppose living abroad that I'm one of the last people to bring this up, but I caught one episode of this program and absolutely lapped it up. I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the first episode of Life On Mars.

I saw the premise for it, and thought, what a stupid idea. But I went ahead and watched it anyway just on the basis that I don't have much opportunity to see BBC based genre shows, no matter how bad, and couldn't believe just how joyful and surprised the whole experience was.

Did anybody else enjoy it, or am I on my own with this one?

I thought it was a great show. there aren't many shows that can switch as effortlessly as this one from high drama to comedy. I recommend it unreservedly.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant show.

Have I mentioned how brilliant it is?

Hoy! I posted a response to this! Where'd it go?
I liked the pilot best, even though it's all been great since. The cast were two-thirds different, and just a tiny bit better.

I turned the pilot after after 15 minutes because I thought it seemed twee. Big mistake. I'd love to watch it now.

And, yes, where did your response go? I saw it initially but now it's gone.

I'm going to be different, I'm afraid. I saw it once - and thought it was awful. I liked the initial premise, but I thought (from the bit I saw anyway) that they just didn't pull it off.

But maybe I should try it again some time? I've heard other people say how great it was, so I might not have given it enough of a chance.

It was hitty missy. Some amazing images and ideas with really clunky, broad passages. Mostly good though, and worth a proper watch. I think they rushed the series out, and hope the next doesn't suffer any further.

Caroline - I was put off by the first episode and didn't watch any more. I only caught up with the repeats, and loved it. Even the clunky bits are good.

Yes, I think it was the first episode I saw which put me off. Oh well, might be worth another try if they repeat it again. Don't think I'd bother to buy the DVD to try it though!

I only saw the first and last eps. Some good stuff in there although I'm a bit fed up with vampires being portrayed as a race of evil masterminds, dwelling in the shadows as they plan to overthrow humanity. What happened to just pouncing on the nearest passerby and then slinking back to your coffin?

Btw, did they ever explain how come the vampire flatmate could stroll about in broad daylight without bursting into flames?

The burning thing is new. Vampires have always been able to come out in the day but with reduced powers.

Yeah, look at Tony Parsons and Giles Brandreth. Not too mention the leader of the opposition.

Here's what I said from a similarly titled thread a loooooong time ago:

Is anyone else watching this? A werewolf a vampire & a ghost sharing an inner city flat. Two episodes in and very good it is too - likeable characters, interesting storylines and some spendidly broad swings from chatty everyday life comedy to out and out horror, even if the werewolf special effects mean he's more of the cuddly dog variety than the Rob Bottin shit scary giants of The Howling. Plus if anyone fancies seeing the kind of place I regularly haunt with top hat, cane and cloak, check out the bit where the girl got her throat slashed and he refused to reanimate her - that gloomy cobblestoned alleyway is smack in the middle of Bristol & I have passed through it many a time.}
