I'm looking forward to it, Zed. Snaky Simon has an Ash-Tree collection due out soon too, so 2010 is shaping up to be a good year for new fiction. |

Thanks, folks. Steve Duffy also has a new one out this year - the same time as Unzo. I'm in fine company there, methinks. |

Can't believe I forgot to mention this, but the introduction is by the enviably talented Steve Duffy. |

2010 is shaping up to be a good year for new fiction. But a pretty poor one for my wallet! What's the betting that Ramsey has the temerity to bring out another book I'll have to buy this year? |

Congrats to both! I can see ASH TREE PRESS taking quite a chunk of the amount I've allocated for books - at WHC Brighton. |

Please buy lots of copies of Gary's book so he can buy Baron von Probertstein's, John Travis's (Publishers Weekly gave it a starred review this week), James Cooper's, and Rhys Huughes's all from my table at both WHC and EasterCon. Thank you. |

Ah, but if we all spend too much money at Ash Tree, Ian, we won't have anything left to spend on Atomic Fez books. Have you thought of that potential dilemma? Oh and congrats to all the Ash Tree authors. |

Let me just add that I'll be doing my bit to support Mr. MCMahon, as well as helping Ash Tree with the re-importation of books to British Columbia by taking home a copy or two of this title. |

God bless you, sir. I just finished the first draft of my new novel. I've had the customary celebratory two fingers of malt whisky, and am currently riding the feeling of accomplishment before turning in for the evening. |

It's all true, folks. New collection, entitled TRAGIC LIFE STORIES, due to be launched at Brighton. Having spent Xmas / New Year in edit hell, helped immeasurably by the sterling editorial team at Ash-Tree, I'm currently looking at some great cover art concepts... more news as and when I have it! |

Steve: Edit hell?! I tried to make it as pleasant a process as possible. . . . Seriously, I'm really pleased and excited about the forthcoming titles from Ash-Tree, and I'm not just saying that because I have to. I'm very happy that we're doing so many contemporary collections, and think that people will be very happy with the results. Gary's collection is a really superb one, showing his immense range as an author, and Simon's and Steve's - both of which I was honoured to be asked to introduce - are, respectively, an excellent introduction to a writer people are going to be hearing a LOT more about in future, and a very exciting departure for a writer who was (perhaps unfairly) close to being pigeonholed as an excellent writer of James pastiche. All I can say is that anyone who picks up Steve's TRAGIC LIFE STORIES expecting it be genteel ghost stories is going to be mightily surprised. |

2010: a real book-buying financial nightmare, as Mick writes! And there is Ramsey's novelisation of SOLOMON KANE movie, and Gary Fry's /Simon Maginn's "FERAL COMPANIONS" from Pendragon, and Paul Finch's (beside his Ash-Tree collection) "STRONGHOLD" (Tomes of the Dead series) coming in August from Rebellion publishing, at least according to Amazon-UK! Not to forget Joshi's anthology "BLACK WINGS" from PS....how many more I cannot say. I will have to ask for assistance with a bank! |

Edit hell, yeah. Any prolonged re-reading of nigh on 250,000 words of your own blether can only be described in terms of the hellish. The best you can hope for is good editors to help the process along. I was lucky! |

Ally: that's actually two separate collections (and a few non-collection stories) that all fell to be edited at the same time. TOCs and ordering details for both books will appear in due course, as will much tiresome blurbage and repeated exhortations to consume, consume, consume (like in THEY LIVE, only less subtle). |
