Excellent - I'm so pleased a record was kept of that occasion - my highlight of the convention, certainly. |

One of the highlights of an already highlit WHC (Brighton) was Reggie Oliver's extended performance of his own work: 'The Copper Wig' (from 'The Dreams of Cardinal Vittorini' - The Haunted River (2003)). Has ever a 'strange story' writer interpreted his own work so brilliantly? A historic moment. I hope there is at least a YOUTUBE of it. |

Also our own Nathaneil Tapley's background tonguing noise behind the play that preceded 'The Copper Wig'. I glimpsed this play being rehearsed as I passed, nemonymously, an open hotel bedroom door on the way to my own room! |

Corruption was great. As was Pusscat. Unfortunatley I missed The Copper Wig. A Warning to the Curious deserves a mention too. |

Both of Reggie Oliver's performances (he did 'Puss Cat' earlier in the show) were wonderful. Even the arse-numbing seats in the hall weren't enough to distract from them. The Probert and Pitt show was also quite a highlight. |

Yes, the performance of Puss Cat was brilliant, too. Just as a matter of personal taste, I enjoyed The Copper Wig even more. |

I only managed to catch The Copper Wig. I was in the Ghostwatch screening with Mr Volk so I only had the pleasure of the final performance. But what a performance! Reggie Oliver is a force of nature, as well as a literary genius. |

Gary, I remember you said you'd enjoyed it. I drunkenly tried to convince Mick Curtis he'd seen it, but he maintained he hadn't. I finally conceded it must've been you. Top stuff. |

We caught both of Reggie Oliver's shows in their entirety, and they were both excellent. John's quite right about the effect of the seats though - ouch! |

Re The Copper Wig, Sorry, I'm reminded elsewhere that the version used by Reggie was the one in Madder Mysteries (which I also own) entitled "The Wig: A Monologue For An Actor". My comments still otherwise stand. |

OK - here are a few of my WHC highlights that didn't involve me being on stage: Meeting Harry E Turner, which allowed Lady P to see me in extremely rare fanboy mode. Johnny Mains' Pan Horror Panel - a Nuremberg rally of classic horror writers! Being one of Three Drunk Old Daily Mail Readers with Nat Tapley and Ian Alexander Martin in the bar. Having our glove puppets interviewed by Martin Roberts after Corruption. Managing to disquiet Gary McMahon at the Ash-Tree Press signing to such an extent that it reduced Simon Kurt Unsworth to tears of laughter so great he couldn't continue with his own book signing. |

Yes, that was a good conversation, it's nice to be able to relax and express your true opinions sometimes... As it was my first convention, my highlights were meeting everyone, and finding them so warm and welcoming. Hello to everyone I met. Apologies to those I didn't, and let's do it again soon... |

I should clarify, when I said "We should go on tour" I meant the Probert-Lady P-Gloaming axis. Otherwise it sounds a little vain... |
