'Complete Symphonies of Adolf Hitler' (great title!) and 'The Dreams of Cardinal Vittorini' are up for auction at E-bay. I'm going to bid - don't like my chances though.

I notice that 25% of the final price goes to charity, which is a nice idea. I may have a bid - have to see what's happening in my bank account...

I hope you won the bidding, Lincoln. ;-)

I'm really glad that I bought these books as they were issued, given how scarce they are now. I still have a lot of stories to read from all three collections, but there hasn't been a bad one so far.

If you like Reggie Oliver's stories, you'll probably like Ron Weighell, another excellent author of supernatural tales. His book The White Road is a superb collection of stories in the tradition of James, Machen and others, but they rise above being merely pastiche. The author seems equally comfortable with historical and contemporary settings. The book is very hard to find now (it was issued in a limited edition by Ghost Story Press), but the good folk at Ash-Tree have said they're planning to reissue it (with extra material, if I remember correctly). I hope it comes along soon so that more people can read these wonderful tales. His Sherlock Holmes stories are very good too.

No, missed out this time. Have just received Masques of Satan - so far it is superb.
The only Weighell story I have read was excellent - 'The Counsels of Night', from Shadows & Silence.
