Save your money for the new William Gibson book, due in September, Weber. Incidentally, as you've a Waterstones loyalty card, do make sure you do as I do, and when you pick up the free magazine in-store, ask for eco-points with it. You get a magazine and 5p free then! Grabinski, Grabinski and more Grabinski. "In Sarah's House" from CB Editions is still in print I think. More pricey, but still brilliant is Ash-Tree's "The Motion Demon". You won't regret it. If you do I'll give you your money back. Mark S. | ||

I love Stefan Grabinski's fiction. This is a favourite quote of mine from one of his stories: "Wrzesmian wasn't too popular. The works of this strange man, saturated with rampant fantasy and imbued with strong individualism, gave a most unfavourable impression by inverting accepted aesthetic-literary theories and by mocking established pseudo-truths. His output was eventually acknowledged as the product of a sick imagination, the bizarre work of an eccentric, maybe even a madman. Wrzesmian was an inconvenience for a variety of reasons and he disturbed unnecessarily, stirring peaceful waters. I have the Ash-Tree Grabinski collection The Motion Demon. I liked it so much I got The Dark Domain for my dad for Christmas. Dedalus have some interesting books, especially their fantasy, Symbolist and decadent titles. | ||
