At last! What you've all been waiting for! Blatant advance publicity for my next book!

Coming soon from those delightful people at Ash-Tree Press:

coffinnails

The filmmakers who unleash a curse from an ancient abbey…

The teenager who murders the sister he never had…

The care home whose attic harbours a monstrous secret…

A schoolbook of poetry that means death for its readers…

The witch’s familiar unleashed by church organ music…

Welcome to the sinister, scary and sometimes outrageous world of John Llewellyn Probert. A place filled with troubled schoolchildren, overbearing theatre producers, brilliant surgeons and nervous billionaires. Where a walk in the country can lead to a mansion filled with beautiful women, or a trap from which you can never escape. Where a picture on the wall of a primary school classroom can come to life with appalling consequences, and a rugby match can be the scene for a burned witch’s revenge. Meet the parents who think they know what is best for their son - until he returns from the grave to show them otherwise. Learn about the girl who found solace in a burial chamber near Prague, and discover the real reason why West End musicals succeed or fail.

Ash-Tree Press is proud to present award-winning author John Llewellyn Probert’s ‘Coffin Nails’ - eighteen tales designed to make you gasp with horror and shudder with delight with a volume so gripping that as you read it you may well fail to notice the twisted, taloned creature that escaped when you opened the cover creeping up behind you to do its dreadful work. Once you’ve satisfied yourself that there’s nothing there please feel free to read the rest of the book, but remember- we never said it was visible.

I am promised details will be available on the ATP website soon

Excellent, John!! There's much to love.

Hack filmmakers!

Who doesn't hate teenagers?

We're all headed to the care home. You know what happens there!

Poetry is death!

Burn the witch!

Seriously, though, congratulations. It sounds great -- Ash Tree is really doing fine work.

Painting faux Bacon esque pics via Viz comic.

Fakeon.

Not sleeping for hours. Getting only a few hours but still refreshed. Sitting in the dark. Playing with my delusions to see if they sponsor fiction. Wondering if I'll ever be entertained again. Wondering if I switch my torch on I'll see a muddy child in the corner of the room.

Put on my navy blue slacks and went out. Packet of Space crisps. All air. Posted off two job applications. No chance and I know it. They know it. John Prescott knows it.

Keeping away from writing because it is like forcing someone else to write for me. He'll write in own good mystical time, sir.

Hmmm.

If you don't mind me asking how does your illness interfere with your ability to work?

How about jobs where people skills aren't important?

- Hospital porter, then once your in, lab work.

You've got the intelligence. Perhaps you've lost your self-confidence?

Self confidence? I never even understood what people meant by that. I was brought up by the TV. I'm not human. I don't need self confidence. I don't really want anything. I pass the time. I'll die and that will be the cure.

You can't pin me down with words. I don't believe in myself. There's no puzzle, no solution.

I don't aspire. I don't live and love and find answers. That's people bullshit. That's what daddy made you into. My dad was BBC1. My mum was ITV.

My God is confusion and the unconnectedness of a program schedule.

I'm not a man. I'm not a son or a friend. I'm an eye and an ear. My emotions have no more depths to them than any soap actor's emotions.

TV is my work. I watch TV. My soul is an image wired to magic from another fake dimension.

I am the bigger telly. Sniff my back for valves.

Who could relax to enjoy the cash if you knew you had to be around people for eight hours most days a week? I need to feel that there are no people. Grabbing a few hours every night wouldn't work.
I'd just end up killing some noisy neighbour, seeing as I have no wife or children to kill.

But then his raiments look fine on us chimps.

That's why this is the centre of life. People who are in the middle of the quest, adopting the mediums that allow all to feel able to interact.

Hey, Lord P., did you actually intend that 'firming up' thingie to sound the way it's ended up sounding. God, I hope the protagonist of that story never ended up giving a blow-job. Heaven knows what the outcome would have been . . . .

I was giving a lecture on Monday evening and as everyone was filing in there was a bit of time to spare so I gave a small plug for Coffin Nails as the computer I had hooked up to the projector was connected to the internet.

Halfway through the lecture an email from a friend of mine pops up in the corner of the screen saying 'I have just read Nefarious Assortment and I am NEVER eating chocolates again!'

They want me to come back to talk about the book now :->
