Greetings to you all and thank you for allowing me to interrupt this broadcast for two exciting announcements:

My novel "Dragon's Ark" will be published as an e-book/POD this fall by Ambler House. If you haven't already, you can read the revised prologue at: http://www.scribd.com/doc/29931063/Dragon-s-Ark-Prologue#

AND: I've just published an essay and remembrance on Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch" for "this zine" at http://www.thiszine.org/non-fiction--media/the-wild-bunch-burchfield

and I know there are some Peckinpah fans on this page . . . btw, what the hell's going on with that "Straw Dogs" remake that Ramsay mentioned here awhile back? Did someone come to their senses and cancel it?

Thank you for reading. Your regularly scheduled programming will now resume.

Congrats, Thomas on the book and the article. As far am I'm aware the remake of Straw Dogs is in post-production, but that might be the remnants of a bad dream.

Great! Thanks, Ally!

I looked a little into the "Straw Dogs" remake. Apparently it'll be out in 2011 and its setting will be shifted to the U.S. South, to make what us colonists call a red state v. blue state movie.

That'll be a good time for a good long essay on the original, which means I'll have to see it again . . .

. . . let's see: Teddy bear, check; security blanket, check; . . . .

DRAGON'S ARK sounds like the logical extension of DRAGON'S DEN. Inventors queue up to sell their designs for a Star Ark that will allows the scowling businesspeople to leave the Earth behind like a cinder and take capitalism to the glittering heavens.
