Hi all, I thought this was worth posting as I am sure a number of you have it since quite a while on pre-order from Ex Occidente: "The Man Who Collected Machen & Other Stories" by Mark Samuels has today arrived at my doorstep. I have not yet read anything in it but will do so very soon, and I just wanted to convey that it's a lavishly produced book, as nice as the last few Ex Occidente releases, perhaps with even nicer heavy paper. The Bulgakov homage is coming next, I believe. I crave an iPad, yet this sure feels (and smells) a lot better in the hand! Soon feedback on the contents. |

Glad you enjoyed it Gary. There's another sinister train story in the Ex-Occ book. Yesterday I got back from a weekend tramping around parts of Devon (my feet and knees are killing me) on a tour of churchyards, wherein are buried Lovecraft's paternal English ancestors. Whilst there I also had a trip on the South Devon heritage steam railway. I kept whistling the theme tune to Horror Express on the journey. Mark S. |

You should be my agent, Des. Thanks for that: you're a star! Mark S. |

Zed Only Des. No other agent will touch me with a bargepole. I approached several once and the resulting indifference was staggering. Mark S. |

Yeah, I've hear you: I've hada similar experience. It seems that mass market book deals don't even get them interested. Sigh. |

I wouldn't have me as an agent. I couldn't even sell a Samuels story to 'Nemonymous'! |

I've got an agent and I'm completely unmarketable! Maybe I'm his punishment for sins committed in a previous life? |

I want an agent in their mid-thirties; some super-hot blonde babe with fantastic business acumen and titanic intelligence. Oh hang on. Maybe it's a girlfriend that I'm after. Mark S. |

I think it's my likely that I'm his secret client... Might as well plug him though... http://www.johnjarrold.co.uk/about.html Nice guy. Efficient, honest. Made me £500 in my first week. My own fault I haven't allowed him to make me similar sums in subsequent weeks! |

The trouble is, agents need something to sell...I've already sold my somethings and won't have any new somethings until late next year. It's a vicious circle, baby. I want an agent with nice breasts and lax morals. |

> The trouble is, agents need something to sell... Well yes, it's something of a catastrophic hindrance if you don't have anything spare. |
