Are they called Imovies? I've just bought Peter and the wolf, the recent animated film, from itunes for about £1.80, which felt like a bargain. However it won't let me burn it to dvd. Anyone know how? Thanks in advance...

A movie bought on itunes is a copy protected file. It is not trivial to convert this to a standard dvd format. Perhaps you can find workarounds in the darker corners of the net. What you can do is copy the movie file to another hard disc (or a dvd) as a backup, but it will not be playable on living room dvd players. |

You CAN plug your iPod into your telly, Tony.... I did, so I know. (Well not your telly, specifically, but....) But you have to actually go in to the iPod and toggle it to be connected, something I discovered - nothing was working until I did that. Consult smarterish people than myselves. |

Just tried. Could only put it through my digibox and it wouldn't find it.

When I know what it is I might... Digital Rights Management - a horrible thing that stops you doing anything at all with stuff you've bought and downloaded. |

Ugh - yes then, it's loathesome. Piracy might actually be booted out if there were more freedom. Maybe one day we could pay a monthly 'movie' tax, all money going to the production of movies, instead of just buying tickets. Then we could watch them on the goggle box for free. Only those that want to have the hard copy can buy a disc. It's cut down all the packaging, anyways, and all the knackered old discs filling the earth. |

Just tried. Could only put it through my digibox and it wouldn't find it. I'm pretty sure this is because you didn't do the toggle thing ON your iPod, Tony. You have to do that, or it won't recognize it.... Do the toggle thing, Tony. DO THE TOGGLE THING! |

Toggle with me: Start with the main menu. Click on Videos. Click on Video Settings. Click on TV Out, and change it from "Off" to "On." See if this works, Tony, you tip-togglin' toggler you.... |

I know, Tony - I'm just kidding about the piracy stuff! ;-) Nothing makes me gnash my teeth more than putting a brand new DVD into the player and then having to sit through that ridiculous, insulting 'piracy - it's a crime' advert. On some discs you can't even skip past it or fast forward. At least I can hit 'mute'... |

It's terrible isn't it: you pay good money on an official disc and you are treated with contempt the moment that you insert the disc. |

Tom, you can sometimes get around it - or at least I can with my Pioneer player - by inserting the DVD and pressing 'menu' before the disc spins up - mine then often skips straight to the DVD menu from where I can watch the feature without all those threats and trailers. |
