It's a Region 0 NTSC pirate DVD but I obviously can't give it to the charity shop.
If you want it, speak up and it's yours!

I don't think I can play Region 0 (or can I?) otherwise I'd say "Me, me, me, please...".

Haven't seen that film in many years and always found it particularly haunting. Used to be on the telly all the time in the 80s.

Come to think of it, UWZ was a clever reworking of the 'Harvest Home'/'Wicker Man' theme, with the classroom as "sinister community" and the "unwitting intruder" their new teacher. Great stuff!

OK, it's yours, Zed! Send me your address on FB and I'll post it out to you. Watch for a cameo by PBoH!

Stevie: We thought it had a lot of promise and nice atmosphere for the first 3/4 or so but then it didn't seem to know how to end.

It must be well over 20 years since I've seen it but I always remember getting a lovely frisson of dread from the final scene... and it had that great early 70s Brit-horror atmosphere and David Hemmings in one of his most sympathetic roles. I'm sure it'll become available eventually.

D'oh - too late! I really like this - strange film, not often on TV either; if it is, it's normally very late and out of the way.

Oooo, I love this film. Haven't seen it in years. David Hemmings, right? And that guy who played the creepy kid. Terrifying rape scene in the gym.

But I can't play Region 0 either and it's already gone ...

I chose not to mention that, Lord P, to ensure that I snagged the swag.

Shows you what I know lol.

Still, it is a great film and one I had completely forgotten until this thread brought it right back into my consciousness... I've just realised that the rape scene, and what leads up to it, gives the film echoes of a somewhat more refined 'Straw Dogs', yet a little research has told me it was scripted first as a BBC drama in the 60s!

SPOILER

Except she wasn't actually raped, if you recall.

Hence the "somewhat more refined" lol. You know it may even be closer to 30 years since I last saw that movie! I do remember it very fondly and specifically recall the powerful sense of menace it built up - akin to 'Straw Dogs'.
