Blimey, apparently copies of my first book, Spare Parts, are still available through Amazon. I thought they were about as common as unicorns these days.

Hang on, let's see if I can remember what the book was even about:

Six tales of love and death. Introduction by Tim Lebbon. Six black and white illustrations by Bob Covington and Dave Bezzina.

"Stuart Young not only writes stories, he gives them life." Tim Lebbon

"Produces a deep sense of grief and desolation such as only great writers are capable of evoking." Mario Guslandi, The Alien Online

"Stuart Young excels in his portrayal of emotional pain." Matt Cardin

"Stuart Young writes like Roald Dahl with a freshly sharpened butcher knife, effortlessly cutting straight to the heart." Mark McLaughlin

In a couple years copies will fetch hundreds of dollars. To my amazement my Jean Ray book My Own Private Spectres (1999) is now a highly sought-after collector's item which is incredibly difficult to find. I have seen copies on abe.books and amazon going for as much as 600 dollars. Oh, and it is considered the Jean Ray book to have. Of course I own five copies in mint condition, heheh.

No disrespect intended, Hubert, but for me the must have collection of Jean Ray is, and always will be, Ghouls In My Grave (1965, p.back). That could be, of course, because I have one... and avidly sought it many, many moons ago.

I hesitate to reply, since I don't post much here now as a consequence of being persona non grata in certain quarters.

My autobiography, Are You Finished Eating That?, is, alas, long out of print, but can be found in the James A. Michener section of all good charity shops.

Thanks Stevie. You're a gent.

Thanks to you, too, Hubert. Classy response.
