I'm getting good vibes about this film... would be great to see Carpenter back at the top of his game. He can still do it when the notion takes him, as the exceptionally disturbing 'Cigarette Burns' proved back in 2005. Nobody mention 'Pro-Life'... |

Cigarette Burns I adored. I felt there was an entire movie there. Check out the link on the Paul Finch thread. If you have a look at movies there, you'll find an article of The Ward and the 'vibes' they're getting on this one. Apparently the promo website for the movie is quite decent, and let's you have a listen to some parts of the Carpenter score. Again, fingers crossed, pal. |

I read a few good reviews, saying that it is a reasonable return to form, not on the level of his best ones but largely good enough, and in fact mainly let down by the script. I also read a few pretty negative reviews. In fact even most good Carpenter films had this kind of mixed reception. From details I read here and there I think that if you are into his filming style, it will be fun enough. Frank, fyi unfortunately someone else scored the movie. |

Tom - I think I'd better change my source of film information, for these days I seem to post news which is two years old, or present facts which are clearly to the contrary: according to the site I looked at from a link on Yahoo, it stated that it was a Carpenter score nearer in style to his early films. Jesus, I think the people running these sites have as much inside knowledge as I do of the stock exchange (: |
