Just picked up an interesting gig. I’m to write and present a night of ghost stories next Easter for my local authority, but the venue is the most exciting part: Haigh Hall, one of the most haunted houses in the whole of northwest England.

It’s early days yet, but, for those interested, I’ve put a little more detail on my blog: http://paulfinch-writer.blogspot.com/

Thanks Ramsey. I think we could have a good night.

Wigan Leisure Trust are quite receptive to this stuff. It depends on who you deal with, of course, but I've done a number of readings and presentations around the borough for them, and it's always been well organised and well publicised.

Oooo, this looks interesting. I wonder if Wigan is going to be do-able for me at that time? Remind us again nearer the time, Paul, and I'll see if I can make it.

That sounds brilliant. And rather tempting.

A friend has contacted me on Facebook reminding me how, as children, we sneaked into the old hall to have a look around - and ended up legging it, scared out of our wits. Sadly, I can't do a 'Ben Mears' and report that I saw Hubie Marston watching me with goggle eyes as he swung by a rope from the main banister, but it was devilishly spooky all the same. And some of the tales surrounding the place are hair-raising.
