Or maybe not. I nearly choked laughing at the little gem that carries this tagline.

it is of course The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra - a pitch perfect spoof on the old 50's horror sci fi movies with brilliantly done bad acting and dialogue and the ropiest monsters (literally in the case of the skeleton whose strings were deliberately clearly visible throughout) I've seen in many years.

Making a film funny by using bad dialogue and bad acting takes talent because there is a very fine line where it turns into a bad film and nothing more. This one succeeds on every level though.

I loved it unreservedly. Highly recommended, along with the sequel - The Lost Skeleton Returns Again which I saw at the festival this year.

I'm glad that turned out to be from a real film. Sounds good.
And you're right. It's a very fine line.

I have it on my shelf. I should get around to watching it... maybe tonight? I'm not sure I feel up to disemboweling myself.

I hadn't heard of this - it's on order now. Thanks, Weber!

I am shocked -- SHOCKED I tell you! -- that there is a film of this variety which Lord Probert had not previously heard of! What is this world coming to? What is the point in carrying on this pointless life if event this sort of Eternal Verity can be thrown to the floor and dashed into a thousand little bits with so much ease?

...and this is about the time everyone starts wishing I hadn't returned, most likely.

The omission has been corrected - we both loved The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra and we'll be looking out for the sequel - thanks for the heads up, Weber!

Yeah, you're slacking, mate. No longer the new kid on the cinematic block. You just don't cut the mustard any more. Too busy at home with Lady P and Elder Scrolls. Well, the day had to come . . . So hand over your ceremonial garments to a more avid film fan. Come on, give them to me.

Sorry mate I would have answered this earlier but I've been busy collecting souls for the giant crab God Hermeus Mora.

Oooops what a giveaway...

It's not a good idea to over-use. Extended exposure, you see, leads to blindness.

Oh so very many allusions there.

We've just been chuckling away at The Lost Skeleton Returns Again, canteloup people and all. Once again thanks for the heads up on these two pictures Mr Gregston!

(Two of Larry Blamire's films are the subject of a feature in the latest Video Watchdog, btw)
