Has anyone else seen this Spanish psychological thriller? I thought it was solid, and the focus on mathematics was interesting. There were some iffy scenes, but on the whole I recommend it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1016301/ |

Jamie - we saw it last year and thought it was pretty good, even if the standard of some of the maths questions didn't really require top class brains to solve them! I loved the mechanics of the shrinking room, though |

I thought it was a pretty good little movie. Watched it about the same time as Timecrimes, which made for a decent mind-bending Spanish double-bill. |

I think we must have done the same! Timecrimes is well worth a look too for those who haven't seen it. |

Timecrimes was very good, I thought - couldn't afford to blink whilst it was on, though! |

I have Timecrimes on reserve at the library, but there's a bit of a queue in front of me. I was a little disappointed by some of the puzzles -- particularly the "one always lies, one always tells the truth" one, which of course I have memorized -- but I suppose you have to keep in mind that they're solving the puzzles in a rather stressful environment. Mick, I think you should check it out. I particularly thought the acting and cinematography were strong. |
