The Exaggerated Press is on the verge of unleashing a new novel by Douglas Thompson (author of "Ultrameta" and "Sylvow"). It's great and timely piece of science fiction called "Apoidea".

Think bees...

The cover art is coming soon and like the words inside, it's a corker.

Hope that doesn't sound too much like an advert!

Cheers
Terry

PS: "The Monster Book for Girls" isn't far away either, just waiting for its cover art.

Hey Terry, sounds good! Don't know if you spotted my post elsewhere about me taking over shortly as the new online news editor for the BFS, but if you want me to post news of these forthcoming publications on the BFS site, just send me some details ... (you know my email address)

(same goes for anyone else here who wants news posted on the BFS site, of course)

Great writer. I loved his piece APOIDROIDS in Theaker's Fiction Quarterly #37.

Whoa...that's huge!

I saved the picture to take a proper look, and it's one hell of a cover.

It's a 3d computer model actually, built and rendered by our new Ecuadorian friend and artistic genius Mauricio Estrella. Humbled by your praise, Des, thanks, I've always thought a real-time review of Ultrameta would be interesting, but maybe you'll do one for this book. "Apoidroids" in TQ37 was Chapters 1 and 2 of this book.... so you know what you're in for. Mayby Terry will post the book "blurb" soon... and you'll see that the whole idea is actually inspired by fact, incredibly!

"Apoidea" is available!

I haven't set up a PayPal process for the Exaggerated press yet. So, if you'd like a copy just let me know, here or at terrypgrimwood@hotmail.co.uk. I know this isn't how you're supposed to do these things but for a start, well, it's a start.

It's a great, direct, current, pacey novel so...

Regards
Terry

Okay, "Apoidea", the properly edited and for-sale version is now up and running.

I've put the "Add to Cart" buttons on my web site http://exaggeratedpress.weebly.com/ so it is sitting there just waiting for the rush (it's only £6.99)!

It's a fantastic novel by a great author. It has a certain Silveburg quality about it, is very fast paced and bang up-to-the-minute. Here's the blurb...

"When the bees were wiped out, famine and war threatened and mankind faced the abyss. But then came salvation, in the form of the cyber bee. Fully functional, fully capable of replacing its extinct predecessor. Humanity would survive.

But suddenly, the bees are not behaving the way they should. Something is wrong..."

Regards
Terry

Thanks to Terry's generosity I've just set up a BFS member-only competition to win, not only a copy of "Apoidea", but also a copy of Terry's own "The Exaggerated Man" and "Mostly Monochrome Stories" by John Travis.

Here's a link to my blurb about it (ie. how to enter) on the BFS website:

Thanks, Terry!

"Apoidea" is now available, for a nominal fee, as an e-book (ePub), downloadable onto iPad etc. I've had a little difficulty downloading the cover image onto Lulu, but until then, it's all there. You can find it at:
