I'm flying out tomorrow a.m. for Manitoba - going back to take part in the Sun Dance - a Native Ceremony where you fast (no food or water) for 4 days. I'll be back late on the 22nd. In the meantime, if anyone wants to send me cool, refreshing, vital thoughts between the 17-21 I'd REALLY appreciate it. |

Nope. Nothing. Not A Thing. You don't really care too much about the not eating though, it's the not drinking that gets to you... You feel great at the end though. And you never want to abuse water again... Which can only be a good thing. |

IT was amazing. More amazing then last year. Lots of really cool things happened, including the fact that at the end one of the other dancers gave me an owl wing. She'd brought it for an elder, but in the end it found its way to me. Which is just so cool. I'm still glowing about it. |

"...it found its way to me." Now there's an image to conjure with. |

Glad to hear it was such a rewarding experience, Adriana! I used to collect owl feathers, by the way... they have a unique texture quite unlike other birds' feathers. |

Why am I not surprised you hear you say that, Huw? I'm doing some owl reading right now, that is really resonating. As they are associated with the night/darkness there are lots of mixed views... Some tribes fear them as omens of death. Other recongnise their gifts of clairvoyance -- their keen sight in the darkness etc. What kind of Owl feathers did you have, HUW? And what has happened to them? Oh, and tell me more about the texture. How are they different? |

There are some mammals with owl faces, I seem to remember reading. Sort of monkey things, nocturnal monkey things. |

I don't know if that sounds funny or scary -- "nocturnal monkey THINGS..." |

Maybe they eat night-blooming bananas. |
