I went to see this four-piece comedy troupe last Tuesday who were on as part of Bristol's Edinburgh Festival preview week. I just thought I'd mention them on here because I haven't laughed so hard over anything in ages. Apparently they've recorded a programme for Channel 4 and if it's anything like their live show it should be unmissable.

They come across as a nicer, funnier version of the League of Gentleman's 'Legz Akimbo' theatre company. There's a very loose arc to hold the sketches together, which are along the lines of Text Message Hamlet, Baa Baa Bastard, & The Owl & The Internet went to Sea, and a really odd one where they all play different major British cities ("The only city that's gay is Derby and everyone knows that's with itself anyway") and the funniest song I have ever heard about saving the planet (let's not ask the trees as they appear to be racist bigots, and the flowers are all sexist, and all mother nature wants is to be drilled mercilessly for her oil). Even the stuff that's neither clever nor funny works because you warm to them so quickly. By the end the 200 strong audience were all singing along to 'Everyone Can be a Dick Sometimes'.

Massively recommended to anyone who likes the usual sort of comedy nonsense I've rambled on about on here from time to time.

I saw the TV show and thought they were quite irritating.

It could be that they just didn't use their "A" material or hadn't adapted properly for the new format.

Could have just been me.

No you were quite right - the TV pilot was awful. I was embarrassed I recommended it to friends to watch.
