And yes, it's the artist William Morris.

I have Sprague de Camp's essay on Morris in LITERARY SWORDSMEN AN SORCERERS (Arkham House 1976), but don't think I've ever even seen one of his books.

I read these many, many years ago, Tony - mostly in the little Ballantine editions from the '70s, and of course the lovely (and cheap!) Dover edition of The Wood Beyond the World. Morris also did versions of Greek and Norse myths in verse (Jason and the Golden Fleece, The Odyssey, the Icelandic Sagas, etc.). He was prolific and versatile, to say the least.

Ally, I remember a long time ago you saying you were an admirer - have you seen the Korean film A Tale of Two Sisters? It features a house very much inspired by Morri's art and design motifs.

Haven't seen it Huw. I went to the village of Kelmscott - couldn't get to see the inside of his house but the houses surrounding it were heavily influenced by him. A lovely way to spend a few hours:>)

It's a Ballantine I bought yesterday, the Well volume. Beautiful cover (it's why I bought it).

News From Nowhere any good, ally?
