...Than the abysmal Bone(shit)kickers was the BBC drama Criminal Justice which was on a few weeks ago. Very well acted, a tight plot, gripping & moving. Best thing I'v seen on Telly in many a year. I'm dreaming aren't I? - I didn't really see it did I?... Now...What night is Bonekickers on..? gcw |

I turned this off after 15 mins, too. It seemed very melodramatic. The beginning was so stagey and unrealistic that I almost found it funny. Sorry. :-( Did anyone see the thing about a murder set in Barnet about 4 or 5 years ago, with Julie Walters? It focused on the jury. Now that was good telly. |

I watched about five minutes of Bonekickers before switching it off. It may have been less... Didn't catch Criminal Justice. |

I wanted to watch criminal justice but missed the first episode coz they started it an hour late so they could show two guys knocking a dayglo green ball across a small field at each other. It looked really interesting - was that the guy from the film Perfume in the lead role? |

I watched that BURN IT UP or whatever it was called last night. Only problem with it was that Bradley Whitford was in it, couldn't be arsed, and still acted everyone else off the screen, the Brits especially. |

Thanks, for that, gcw. I've got Freeview, but most of the stations are missing where I live, including Film 4. Good job I don't like films. Can get Sky News, though. |

Skyplussing...??!?? What's that? Sort of like nonplussing, only worse, as Murdoch rolls around naked in the money you pay him, although you don't have to watch him. |

I never really liked it, gcw. It was handy, but the quality, certainly in the early days before four head machines and 'hi-fi sound' became the norm, was pretty grim imo. It seemed like having a bad photocopy of a nice painting rather than the original. If you can't get to see the original, the photocopy has to do, but it's a poor alternative. I had loads of VHS tapes, but as soon as I could afford to (early 'nineties) I moved to laserdisc for bought films and I don't think I bought a pre-recorded tape after then. I'd taped all the Laurel & Hardy films from tv, along with loads and loads of other stuff back in the 'eighties, and I can't argue that it was a revelation to be able to watch what I wanted, when I wanted, but I always hated that picture quality... |
