I've seen this before. It's very fine indeed, though I think it loses momentum after the R'lyeh section – possibly because having your sanity blasted doesn't improve your rhyming or illustration skills. I love the huge Louisiana ceremony image. Always wondered whether Dr Seuss' I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew was influenced by Lovecraft's 'The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath'. It's quite a similar story, give or take a few night-gaunts. |
