Great title, eh?

Sadly it's not one of mine, neither is 'Cinderella Spiteful', 'Alison All Alone' or 'The Crippled Ballerina'. They're all titles of cartoon strips in 1970s girls' comics, a documentary about which I have just been watching.

I never though such things would be a hitherto untapped source of conte-cruele style horror but the subject matter of some of these (one featured a downstairs maid who basically got beaten by the butler every week, another has a tennis player who gets blinded out of spite) means next time I'm in Oxfam I'll be checking out the big box of comics they have upstairs.

If you happen to find that one about the downstairs maid... let me know, will you?

I don't know if it's my typically deranged imagination, but I could have sworn that the starter of a recent thread appeared in the index of postings as "John Llewellyn Probe".

Ah yes, that would be my doppelganger who's easy to spot as he has something missing, a bit like "The Man Who Haunted Himsel".

Mick Curt is very standoffish isn't he? At least he doesn't have a predilection for, well you know, like Gary Mc.
