Watched this hour long Italian documentary this evening that seems to have been able to drag up plenty of familiar faces (Ruggero Deodato saying he finds it 'offensive' that people consider CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST a horror picture, Lamberto DEMONS Bava saying he hates violence on screen in any form, Argento waffling on, Luigi Cozzi as usual being a bit dull). But also some personalities I've only read about (Fulci FX man Gianetto de Rossi, a nearly dead Riccardo Freda, Franco Ferrini talking about scripting PHENOMENA). Worth catching if it ever turns up on TV. Except it probably won't because some of the clips of 'new Italian horror' probably wouldn't get past the censor as they're a teensy bit torture-porny.

I've got it as part of a double disc set called 'Cinecocktail: The Italian Horror Show'. The other disc is a compilation of Italian horror film music (only about the 79th to add to my collection) and the DVD was an unexpected extra.
