What's the best single malt whisky?

My vote goes to Talisker.

With Aberlour in second place because I can't spell the one I'm thinking of.

If it's whiskey it *has* to be J&B

It doesn't matter what it tastes like, it just *has* to be J&B

Asda's Economy whiskey isn't bad, but tastes just a bit more like piss than Tesco's, so Tesco's it is.

J&b is a blend... And, not intending to sound geeky, if it's scotch there's no e in whisky. :-)

Do you always drop an E in your whisky, Weber?

Talisker here. J & B with or without coke is another favourite.

I'll put in a vote for Frugoscotch. A drop or two on your Sticky Rotters can set you up for the day.

Laphroaig is nice, as are Talisker and The Maccallen...

Actually, the one time I've found Lagavulin at a price I could afford (one of the local British leegions has a bottle behind the bar so you can buy it by the shot at £2.50 a time) it were bloody lovely stuff. The price is a negative factor though - £40 plus a bottle is out of my normal price range.

Oban is pretty bloody good as well. My brother in law has a bottle in his kitchen cupboard that I've had a few snifters from.

Laphroig is another good one. Not a patch on Talisker though.

Despite being Scottish I'm more of a bourbon drinker myself. I just can't afford to try any really good Scotch whisky at the moment :/

My preference is for Laphroaig simply because it's my favourite from Islay - I love the smokiness of it. Scotches I've so far tried from other regions tend to be a tiny bit too sour for my palate (oo-er, get 'im!)...

This has to be the most random thread on a horror board I've ever seen.

I bought an unused Morphy Richards coffee maker at the weekend from a car boot sale up in Seahouses - for £3! That's cheaper than a Starbucks coffee on its own!
Last night I overfilled it with water and the top blew off and nearly crushed half my face, almost taking my eye out.

Hmm. It might be malicious. Are you sure, Tony, after it exploded, it wasn't saying "Neato!" over and over, and you misunderstood?...
