Alas, Harry Harrison died today - a great guy. We still have his work at least. And I think he might be amused to learn from Wikipedia that not only was he 87 when he died, he was born at that age too. That's sf for you! |

Very sad. I never met him but his novels were a large part of my teenage years. |

Very sad news. Another great sci-fi writer. The 'Deathworld' trilogy & 'Bill, The Galactic Hero' (the ultimate spoof of 'Starship Troopers') are the works I know him for. I've always meant to try the 'Stainless Steel Rat' series as well. Laugh out loud humour is a rare quality in genre fiction and he had it in spades. |

I've read Bill the Galactic Hero and the Stainless Steel Rat books. Another fine talent passing away from us. Sad news indeed. RIP |
