Just been lent a copy of this version of Dracula:-

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0303928/

...from ITV's "Mystery & Imagination" series. I don't think I've ever seen it before; it stars Denholm Elliot as Dracula, and Susan George as Lucy Weston(!).

Never heard of that one, but Bernard Archard was good in Pyramids of Mars and director Patrick Dromgoole was responsible for a stack of good telly from HTV

I quite enjoyed the last BBC version, with Marc Warren as DRAC. Generally wrong but quite entertaining too.

I've never heard of this version Mick, picture quality looks good...Was it originally in colour? has it been 'officially' released?

Not sure about the authenticity of Dracs' Specs..:-)

Unfortunately the quality isn't great. It's about the same as that clip on YouTube, which is fine when it's a 3" picture, but a bit soft when it's on yer telly!

I have a 'Vidfired' DVD of Doctor Who's 'The Invasion' from 1968...And the picture quality on the interior scenes is incredible, amazingly sharp.

There's a godawful version with Patrick Bergin. The story is an updated version set in Italy I think. The worst version I ever had the misfortune to sit through. I would highlight its dreadfulness if I hadn't taken to using the word 'fuck' so often.

Frank - I watched about 5 minutes of the Bergin version before I slipped into a coma for the duration of this 'film'...

...I think Anchor Bay gave all the 'lucky' attendees of the Dead by Dawn film festival a free copy of this one year!
