You guys who are writers might want to check this out. It's been mentioned on Facebook and the BFS forum. It's an illegal download site, so I guess they're ripping you off if they're offering your books for free?

Do they have a postal address? Between us we could stump up the money for one of us to go there and smash their faces in. Be happy to volunteer for the job.

They're offering stories of mine that were written on a typewriter. If the offers are genuine they must have scanned the printed versions.

What makes these scum imagine they have the right to do that? Oh yes, according to N********* T*****, everyone has the right to do that.

What is the point of trying to create anything if some shit will steal it and some tosspot will tell you that you never owned it? I mean, why make the effort?

Fuck the internet.

Joel - some folks on Facebook were saying that they'd asked them to remove links to their books and they've done so. If everyone does that it should help a bit. Thought I'd better share for those like you who aren't on Facebook.

Oh my goodness. I thought this was yet another one of those download sites like you see everywhere, but I think many of those either make deals with the creators of said content, or set up so many roadblocks that it deters casual pirating. So I checked out the process here... and let's just say, with the click of a button and in 10 seconds, I instantly received a novel that this place has NO RIGHT handing out like that! This site is so goddamned illegal that I can only believe it's going to be down and out and unfindable within days. This is like smashing open a bank and waving casual passers-by in for free cash—there is no way in Hell the authorities are going to let this stand, even in the current iteration of our flawed and pirate-rampant planet....

I think one problem will be over where the server is sited. I did a search for Ramsey's work on there and a fair few came up, although it looks as if some are unavailable due to "link deleted by legal owner" so, as Caroline says, it may be possible to get stuff taken down. Not a great solution but it's something.

From curiosity, typed in 'Harry Potter'. Result is curious - almost all links deleted by legal owner, though not those to PDFs.
