Hi folks! I hope no-one here minds me giving my latest venture a little plug - seeing as it could be of interest to many of you. But, Ramsey, Gary and anyone else here - if you don't like this please feel free to delete and give me a reprimand!

I'm setting up what I hope will eventually become a one-stop internet shop for horror/weird fiction and artwork. At the moment, it's in its very early stages. I haven't yet set up the website, but I currently have a presence on Ebay (will be on Amazon too at some point).

The venture is called Frighful Horrors. For those of you on Facebook, here's the FB page:
https://www.facebook.com/frightfulhorrorsuk

I've got three publishers who've joined with me in the beta testing phase. The first is our good friend Des with his Megazanthus Press, and I have the three latest Megazanthus anthologies for sale here:

HORROR WITHOUT VICTIMS
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281169837298&ssPageName=ADM E:L:LCA:GB:1123

FIRST BOOK OF CLASSICAL HORROR STORIES
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281169829770&ssPageName=ADM E:L:LCA:GB:1123

HORROR ANTHOLOGY OF HORROR ANTHOLOGIES
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281169820527&ssPageName=ADM E:L:LCA:GB:1123

If you don't already have a copy of these and would like one (signed by Des, no less!) then please consider buying from these links. I currently have zero feedback as a new business seller on Ebay, and it's certainly going to be easier for me to sell books once I can get my first sales/feedback and remove that zero rating.

Soon, I should have Spectral Press and Shadow Publishing books for sale too.

And I'm delighted to say that Tony is doing the artwork for the Frightful Horror logo and banner - and a very fine job he's doing of it too! Tony - do you want to post some pics here, to show them what you're doing?

Anyway, I hope you'll all like Frightful Horrors - and I really hope that ultimately it develops into an amazing resource for us horror/weird fiction fans. Once I've got the website up and running, I'll be adding content such as interviews, news and events, so it should be well worth a visit!

Oooh, those are great. I especially love the bus one (in colour), it has a wonderful dingy 70's ambiance to it.

Any particular reason for 1963 on the bus poster?

All excellent pics by the way

"Any particular reason for 1963 on the bus poster?"

We've decided to remove the date, Weber.

The banner will involve the B&W bus pic, with incorporation of what will be Frightful Horrors' logo - the "exploding face" pic 2nd down. But we still need to decide on colour for that - don't want too much B&W.

Just to let you all know - I should be adding some Shadow Publishing and Spectral Press books at the weekend too.

Oh, and you can also find the books listed on ebid now - as well as ebay.

The date is the year I was born. It was just for fun, to make it look authentic.

It's giveaway time! Frightful Horrors needs to break its duck. No, I'm not being cruel to ducks - I think that's cricketing terminology.

The FH ebay and ebid stores need to make their first sales in order to improve seller feedback and thereby get more sales - so that I can sell some books for the publishers who've been kind enough to join with me at the start of this venture. So, I'm giving away two chapbooks to the first person who buys a book from either ebid or ebay.

The chapbooks are PS publications: Ramsey's short story 'Holding the Light' and Scott Edelman's very short zombie tale 'No More Mr Nice Guy'. I wouldn't normally give away *anything* by Ramsey, but this is a spare - I already have a signed copy which I'm definitely not giving away!

Simply buy any book from either http://dsa.ebay.co.uk/sch/frightful_horrors/m.html?_nkw&_armrs=1&_from&_ipg&_trk sid=p3686
or
http://uk.ebid.net/items/frightfulhorrors
and the first person to do so gets BOTH chapbooks absolutely free.

Forgot to say, along with the Megazanthus titles, you'll find Shadow Publishing and Spectral Press titles there now too.

I wish I had a disposable income right now, but a very pretty optician just talked me into buying new glasses today, so no impulse buys for me for a while I'm afraid :/

Aw, that's a pity, David. But when you have some spare cash and fancy a good book to read, you know where I am.

By the way, the free chapbooks have now been given away. Pleased to say that I've broken my duck!

Here's another promotional giveaway from Frightful Horrors. Buy any book from our ebid store (http://uk.ebid.net/users/frightfulhorrors), "like" the Frightful Horrors Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/frightfulhorrorsuk) and share the post about the giveaway, and you'll get a rare Poppy Z Brite chapbook free. The chapbook is 'Used Stories' (Subterranean Press 2004). It is used - not brand new - but it's in excellent condition.

Frightful Horrors' ebid store now lists books (many signed) from Spectral Press, Megazanthus Press, Shadow Publishing and Inkermen Press. I've broken my duck and got some feedback on ebay - now I need to do the same on ebid!

I feel like I'm being a nuisance but ...

Here's a further Frightful Horrors update. I've now decided to post extra content to the Facebook page
rather than a dedicated website. So I'll be including mini-interviews with the publishers, writers
and artists I feature, plus news and events of interest to UK horror fans. I'm also starting a "Book
of the Day" feature (but not every day!) where I highlight a book I'm promoting/selling.

The other day, I posted a mini-interview with David Sutton about his resurrection of Shadow Publishing.
Today, I'm featuring the first Book of the Day - David Riley's "The Lurkers in the Abyss".

Oh, and I'm also selling direct from the Facebook page, as well as the listings on ebay and ebid. Go on,
take a look - you know you want to!

Been tied up with a few problems today, David - sorry. I did find someone with your name - but not sure if it is you. Do you talk much about horror stuff on your FB page or is it mostly for family? The David Lees page I found seemed to be mostly for family. If that's the case, I don't like to intrude on your family stuff.

Me? I tend to have a bit of all sorts on mine - some horror, some health problems, some cat news, some Jethro Tull, etc, etc. Take a look for me (I've got a cat-reading-a-newspaper avatar) and "friend" me if you'd like to.

By the way, Frightful Horrors is fast approaching 100 "likes" - now I'm starting to feel nervous that I'm going to disappoint everyone!

Ah, I should have posted a link, sorry. I thought you'd get it from me joining the Frightful Horrors page: https://www.facebook.com/david.lees.56

I mostly use it to keep in touch with people I don't see much in real life anymore and post random links I find interesting.

Heh, it is remarkably hard to find people on Facebook unless you have shared friends. There's a few people from college I try to track down now and then but I've never had any luck.
