I have a new favourite 3D movie. Gravity is quite simply the most stunning thing I've ever seen in the cinema. Just fabulous on all counts. The Hobbit is going to have to really push the limits if it's going to be anywhere near as great to look at. The story and the acting was pretty much perfect as well. My jaw still hasn't quite risen back to its correct position. If this film doesn't take every technical award going, there's no justice. I don't know if George or Sandra were nominated for anything, but they deserve to be. |

We saw GRAVITY at the BFI IMAX on saturday - stunning made, although friends who are aware of the reality of physics weren't so impressed by a lot of the story. However, if you sit back and just enjoy the film it works very well. For once the 3D was very immersive - usually it's just a reason to poke things out of the screen but it worked well here. I also loved the (apparently) long takes. |

The nearest I've ever been to space itself! I agree, what a great, disturbing, terrifying film it is. The sheer vastness of space, and the fraility and smallness of the humans who dare to venture out there was vividly shown. And a fine performance from Clooney and particualrly Sandra Bullock who carried the film on her own from beginning to end. |
