'Fairies at the Christening' -- just read this substantial story by Elizabeth Bowen - never before published, It is in 'The Bazaar & Other Stories' by Elizabeth Bowen (Edinburgh University Press 2008). A ghost story - which I predict will become a classic. There are other great previously unpublished EB stories in this book. | ||

I am now nearing the end in reading this book. The one I've just read today, entitle 'Home For Christmas', is very sinister indeed, involving Christmas Eve and Hide-and-Seek. Apparently, EB was obsessed with writing Christmas stories in the mid-fifties! One of the stories I've yet to read is actually called 'Ghost Story'. Can't wait for that one! :-) | ||
