http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article4749183.ece 'The judges on the panel gave the sons twice as much as the daughters, in accordance with sharia. Had the family gone to a normal British court, the daughters would have got equal amounts. In the six cases of domestic violence, Siddiqi said the judges ordered the husbands to take anger management classes and mentoring from community elders. There was no further punishment.' I thought I was dreaming when I read that. |

Inayat Bunglawala, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: “The MCB supports these tribunals. If the Jewish courts are allowed to flourish, so must the sharia ones.” He has a point. They should stop both if that's the case. From Wiki: "In 2003 in the UK, an independent advisory group - the Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC) - concluded that the way halal (and Kosher) meat is produced causes severe suffering to animals and should be banned immediately. Halal and kosher butchers deny their method of killing animals is cruel and expressed anger over the recommendation [5]." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2977086.stm That was 5 years ago and no polititian will take action. If you've ever seen this done, you'll know how unspeakably sadistic it is. A nation that gave us Shakespeare and Newton is now to be governed by a magic book. |

On another board someone said that the Jewish courts are not recognized under the law - so I'm confused. |
