I found an American first edition of this novel by Lucius Shepard in Waterstones recently for the bargain basement price of £3.50. It's easily the best bargain I've picked up bookwise in many a year. Lucius Shepard is a great writer and so far this is one of the best of his novels that I've read. I reccommend anyone to get a copy if you can. | ||

i found a paperback of Rober Heinlein's THE GREEN HILLS OF EARTH for a quid the other day. Probably what it's worth second-hand, but I've never owned a copy so was well pleased to see it, loose pages and all. | ||

Handbook just get's better as you get further into it. There's more story in the first 30 pages than you get in a George RR Martin epic decalogy. On other book news, I just got emailed today to say that my copy of The Ghost in Love - the new Jonathan Carroll has now been shipped. Woo hoo! | ||

Alan, I'm sure I've seen you over at Lucius's board before - do you post there? Or am I just imagining it? Handbook is one of the few LS books I've yet to read (I've ordered it, along with the Subterranean Press 'Best of' retrospective). He is one of my very favourite contemporary writers, along with Ramsey and a few others. | ||
