Brian Aldiss, to whom Liverpool recently gave an honorary degree, will be giving a lecture, entitled Science and Civilisation, on Wednesday 15 October, at 5 pm, in the Jack Leggatt Theatre, Victoria Building, University of Liverpool. All welcome, admission free. |

That'll be something alright. I missed something similar a few years back when Alex Cox made an appearance. When are they gonna give the landlord the keys to the city? Then again, you read one of his Liverpool based stories and it's the last place you want to be (: |

And SECRET STORIES paints a less than rosy picture of Liverpool's cultural life, though to be fair you get idiots like that in any city. 'Compassion' offers a gentle, nostalgic sense of Liverpool as background. But that's sort of early RC. Suggested title for an essay on Campbell and Liverpool: 'Dockside of the Moon'. |
