As i'm about to be made redundant before the end of the year I'm jobhunting. If anyone else is jobseeking, this is one to avoid I saw an advert on Totaljobs (but it is also on several other jobsites in various guises) It looks like this Location: Manchester, Lancashire Salary: £9.50 PER HOUR Company: DATAREFER SERVICE Job type: Permanent Date Posted 10/10/2008 12:05 Job reference: Totaljobs/tjdic 2 Description: Data Input Clerks to work in our Manchester office. Contact name: RICHARD JONES Telephone: Unspecified Fax: Unspecified Email: applications@datareferservice.co.uk Address: Unspecified I applied for this and received an email telling me that I had the job and to phone a number. I thought it was strange to be offered a job with no interview but I phoned them anyway. They told me to go through their website to fill in the necessary paperwork. the web address was WWW.kccomputerservices.co.uk. When I checked this I found that it is a scam. They expect the successful recruits to PAY £25 for a training pack. Also the pay is not £9.50 per hour, it's piecework at £25 per unit processed of whatever it is they do. If people see this job advertised, do not apply. It is a scam.
