I escaped because of the concenrs going on about the financial crisis, Albs. Savers' money wasn't guaranteed in the Channel Islands like over here, so there was all sorts of panic going on. Plus the price of a bag of coal (yup, they have it there too!) had gone up to £13. So while no one was looking, we scooted around the island living off the freebies in Honesty Boxes. Oh, okay. We paid for the stuff . . . But it is funny. They have honesty boxes, where you deposit money for whatever goods you take, and yet there was a report inthe local paper about a guy breaking into a beachside kiosk to nick some food. Odd. Also odd not to see the Rozzers in stab vests and carrying mace and an extendable truncheon . . . It's not like in the norf, fella. | ||
