John - just watched an effective little thriller called TRANSSIBERIA:- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800241/ ...which is, as you may guess, set almost entirely on the Trans Siberia Express, albeit going from Beijing to Moscow rather than in the direction you went. It even has a short scene set in a shed at the border, where they're changing the bogies, which I recall you telling me about earlier this year! |

Thanks Mick - I'll have to keep an eye out to see how accurate it all is. Of course the authenticity of Horror Express wil be hard to beat. And for the uninitiated, the 'Changing of the Bogies' is one of those things that every man should be allowed to experience once in his life. The ladies on the train all stayed in bed while I felt a moment of masculine bonding as we all stared as our coach was raised ten feet off the ground and the wheels dropped off. |

Don't get too excited, Zed. It's rubbish. A real misfire from Anderson. Only my opinion, of course. |

It's definitely not SESSION 9, that's for sure, but if you pretend it's by a first time director you've not heard of it's ok. Plot holes aplenty, and an uninteresting performance from Woody Harrelson, but a few effective scenes. |
