Yet another view from the balcony of our friends' flat - this time of year you can see the weir from there as the trees are bare:-

Wow. Beautiful. Hey, I can see a red-clad figure on the jetty...a dwarf in a red raincoat? ;-) |

That was the idea! Dunno who she was, but I liked the red against the wintry background... |

The person in the red coat is in more than one pic, Mick. Were you feeling watched over this stay, by any chance? |

We have a saying, in our family, when we go on long walks. If she is wearing red - she is going down. Happens all the time - if I'm wearing red I fall on my arse! Nice hat Debs! I've got one a little like it. |

The lakes. All those odd little islands with solitary grand houses on them. Eerie. I went rowing round one once and the water really got rough - almost like the sea. I kept looking at the land where folk were waving pleasantly at me while I was almost in tears. When I landed I was all 'I was sinking!' while they only gave me daft looks as if I was some kind of wuss. |

>>When I landed I was all 'I was sinking!' while they only gave me daft looks as if I was some kind of wuss. Horrible isn't it, Tony, when you're the only one who knows what darkness lay so close at hand? |

I like the colours of those mountains. A positively Machenian atmosphere . . . |
