looks lovely. You not put one of your own pieces in, Michael? Any particular thinking about that -- one of those who don't think it's quite proper? I know there are differeing views on this.

Indeed, I am one of those who do not think it proper to put one's own work in an anthology one is editing. I've no qualms with those who do. It just isn't something I'm comfortable with.

I'd written a 1200 word introduction to the book, and scrapped that, as well. It felt self-indulgent, though, on retrospect, editing others' work and putting your name on the cover is rather self-indulgent in and of itself.

FWIW, the books should arrive today. Hurrah!
