Couple of pics to be going on with - not of much interest to most, but still - first shows free books - bottom two are PS books, the Lawrence Block one was a numbered edition too, for whatever that's worth, and the second one the books I bought - see, I was very restrained. Mostly by Debbie.

They're all new except for Joel's "The Earth Wire" (1994) which I picked up second hand in the dealers' room and had inscribed by lovely Joel himself after his (very good) reading.

Lovely picture of Lord and Lady P there, Mick... one of the sweetest couples I know, along with that grumpy Geordie bugger McMahon and his saintly wife... ;)

Off now to bed with my copy of 'Coffin Nails' having got over the shock and terror of thinking I'd left it in the back of a taxi...

Fine pictures, Mick! I look halfway human, which is an impresive thing to catch with a camera. And you have fine taste in books, sir!

And here are some pics from me! Lord P and I are absolutely knackered today but we had a truly amazing time and can't wait to do it again.

Very good pics, gang. But where's James Herbert? Did he have his invisibility cloak on?

Isn't the image of "The Landlord" actually me? I'd recognize those satchels below those eyes anywhere!

Nice pics, Ian. Mind you, I'm beginning to wonder if you have a fixation on Lord P as you have so many photos of him!

Hey, I reckon they put you in "my" hotel room. Amanda spent ages trying to fix me up with a quiet room and ended up putting me in the basement, but when I had to cancel last minute and rang the hotel, they said no worries as they had someone else who could have it so I didn't have to pay anything. Was it you who ended up in my room?

Good pictures, Ian - I read in the WHC that the dealers' room has been demolished!

Mick: I've added your identities to the caption, so as to remind myself to next time greet you as a long-lost friend instead of a potential customer. And yes, I also noticed on the WHC site that the two dealers' rooms and the near-by lounges are now being converted into bedrooms. As that part of the building is listed quite high in the historical register, good luck to them getting those areas up to modern building code!

Caroline: when I grow up, I want to be just like JLP! Actually, I kept taking pictures of he and Lady Kate because the three of us hit it off so well, and they kept coming to visit me in the hinterland of the Dealers' Room where I spent every day from 10:00 until 6:00. They were, in many ways, my link to the outside world of the convention... which might explain something right there.
