Thanks, Mick! I can't believe these were taken on my phone. I took more of the Star Wars sets on my other camera and they seem about the same quality...  But yes, at short notice we went to Tunisia! Top pic is of the edge of the Sahara (seeing it for the first time is like bumping into God - nothing prepares you for the sense of unreality and awe), the next my son Bill on a Camel (yes, we rode camels - in the Sahara...). The next you can recognise. I have to say, visiting that place was incredible. It's miles from anything, a real long sloggy drive (we were in these four-by-fours that seemed to hit every dune in sight and it took nearly two hours either way), but so beautiful out there. The dunes were flesh coloured and the texture of talcum powder - it's white dust not sand. And the sets - so intact. It was the most unreal experience. I'm pushed for time right now but will write more if anyone wants to hear it later. Bottom pic is of an oasis in the Atlas mountains - more gobsmack. | ||
