Any fans here? I just read a short called 'Proboscis', and I loved it. His style really does it for me, and his characters are great.
Looked locally for any of his collections, and found one at probably the last genre bookshop in Australia. They just happened to be having a 15% off sale, with free shipping, so I grabbed the following:

Occultation, by Laird Barron
The Croning, also by Barron
Book of Cthulhu, short fiction anthology
Dead Bad Things, by Gary McMahon
The Faceless, by Simon Bestwick
Loss of Separation, by Conrad Williams
The Concrete Grove, by Gary McMahon
and Silent Voices, by Gary McMahon

Yes, Laird's a very fine writer of modern Lovecraftian fiction. I admire much of his work.

Thanks for grabbing my books, to, Lincoln...and apologies for not responding to your email. It got lost in my inbox amid all the emails telling me my account had been hacked! I only just found it this morning.

I have his collections The Imago Sequence and Occultation, and I agree that he is a talented writer. He reminds me a little of Lucius Shepard and Jack Cady at times; I get the sense that he has 'been around' and had some interesting experiences in life, and that those experiences provide ideas for his stories. I feel I can identify with this kind of writer.

I was sent an ARC for The Croning earlier in the year, and it was amazingly good. I love his short stories, but this was even better.
