Folks, I am working on a retrospective anthology called "The Dark Heart of Peeping Tom". This is a selection of stories originally published in the legendary "Peeping Tom" magazine. First, excitingly, some big names will appear in its pages, including Brian Lumley, Simon Clark, Stephen Laws, Tim Lebbon and Stephen Gallagher. There are others which are not so well known and it is proving difficult to track them down. Are you out there on this message board? Does anyone know any of these people? Please help! Have you asked on Facebook, Terry? I'm thinking some of the folks who've been around the small presses for a while might know something - like Dave Sutton, Carl Ford, Peter Coleborne, et al perhaps? Oh, and you can put me down for a copy of the antho! |

Well, Lincoln, I don't know if you are familiar with "Peeping Tom" but it was a multi-times BFS award winning small press magazine that had its heyday in the mid 1990s and just into the 21st century. It was one of the so-called Small Press Golden Age publications and together they provided a seed bed for some well-known names. I have long wanted to put together a retrospective anthology so that a new generation can enjoy some of these long-ago stories and, at last, I been able to get this project underway. My intention is to get the book out in time for a launch at the 2014 FantasyCon in York, its cover illustration provided by one of Peeping Tom's original cover artists. The original editor ad publishers, Stuart Hughes and David Bell are also involved, and I am grateful for he help and support being given by Allen Ashley, Des Lewis and Peter Tennant. Regards Terry |

Thanks for that, Terry. I have heard of the mag, but never actually seen an issue. Andy, over at Cold Tonnage Books, has a heap of issues for sale, might pick a couple up next time I order from him. Really interested in the antho - will it be available in hardcover? |

Surely the phrase "sad little horror wankers" has to be a non sequitur? Horror and wanking are two of the things that never fail to raise a smile on my face. Weird, eh... |
